MEDIA INFORMATION LITERACY BY PETE JOHN GENOBATEN

COMBATING MEDIA DIVIDE
-In many ways the digital divide can be seen as a practical embodiment of the wider theme of ‘social inclusion’ recently prominent in policy making throughout centre-left governments in Western nations
-As part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), world leaders have committed to strive for universal and affordable access to the Internet in least developed countries by 2020, and to ensure that women and men have equal access to basic services, including technology, by 2030 These pledges have put the digital divide squarely on the international political agenda. Yet our research shows that on current trends, we’ll only reach the goal of universal access in 2042. The largest challenges are in Africa – where just one in five people are online today.

COMBATING DIGITAL ADDICTION
-The holy trinity of digital addiction – tablet, laptop and smartphone. I cannot imagine the daily hustle of working without any one of these. A feeling of emptiness quickly envelopes the mind whenever I am unable to access any of them even leading to momentary thought paralysis!
For someone whose entire life revolved around these digital delights, it wasn’t any less a supreme sacrifice to establish strict rules of digital engagement and even worse strictly adhere to it.                                                                      -We must put a strict and discipline use of our gadgets, doing this it minimize the urge to use our gadget
COMBATING CYBER/DIGITAL BULLYING
-Cyber bullying occurs when electronic communications such as text messages, emails, instant messages, and social media updates are used to threaten or humiliate someone. Its consequences can be just as serious as the effects of bullying that occurs in person. Learn how to recognize and address cyber bullying before it gets out of hand.
- Cyber bullies often use pictures, status updates, and personal information they find online to harass their targets. It's fine to share a little information about yourself online, but never reveal something you don't want the whole world to know.
PROMOTING ETHICAL USE OF MIL
-We need to share information and promote it everywhere in this world. Teach those who don't know how to use proper etiquette use on the media, share you're information, your knowledge to all mankind. The moral learning we spread.
Opportunities and Challenges of Digital Media and information

- It is an honor to share your knowledge on digital media and information, Because a dozen of  people is still ignorant about this. Though, their still many challenges we must face in order to share our knowledges and thoughts about this. I am confident we can make it a success.
