MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY

DIGITAL DIVIDE

Digital divide is a term that refers to the gap between demographics and regions have access to modern information and communication technology.

By gathering information and to communicate others as our/my generation not technology is very important. I know that not all of us have engaged in a technology like cellphone, laptop, tablet, computers etc. But we can still learn using those things by the help of our family, friends, classmates and teacher and if you have a dedictation  to learn because in 21st century generation we are expose now in deferent kinds of high technology and it is needed to gather information.

For example me I have a background in using technology specially laptop then my mother is don’t even know about it because she’s still studying she’s not using technology because we only live a simple life , so I use to teach her how to use it so that she must learned and can gather more information and can communicate other’s far from her by the help also of internet.

DIGITAL ADDICTION

Digital addiction is dangerous for us specially to our health and it can affect our socialization in person. Why? Becuase we only focus in a technology , our mind and attention will focus only in a technology we have no time to communicate others in person. 

For example a boy is so addicted to the DOTA 2 in that case he already forget his study , he didn’t mind his study because of dota , Instead of going to school he goes to the internet cafe to play dota. Becuase of his addiction he always don’t let do what his parent’s said that only for his good.

To avoid it let’s open our self to other things not only in a technology , maybe we can play games not using technology but by outdoors games so that we can also interact and communicate others in the same time.

CYBER BULLYING

Cyber bullying is Intendent to offend,humiliate, threaten harass, or abuse somebody. Cyberbullying really affects our image to others specially the way they look us and threat us. Cyberbullying cause many problems in a person specially if he/she is a victim.

For example is, posting a picture of her that she have an ugly aura, then the friends of the one who post the picture comments in the picture a harass words or abusal words that makes her down and pity. They bullied her by using new media like internet.

For me we can avoid it by having rule about that issue and those person using internetthey need to do what the rules want even if it is a small issue but if we think that is bully those who bullied have punishment so that we can avoid cyber bullying.

ETHICAL USE OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION

As a new generation we need the technology a lot, and in our generation we are the media literate individual or person. Media and information is very important to us because in the help of this we can gained and gather more knowledge and information that can help us to improve our Understanding.

For me this is so very important, examples is like what I’m doing right now I’m doing a blog media and information is needen because I need to use technology ang by research in the internet i can gather more information about the topic.

OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION 

LITERACY

Media and information literacy is have a big opportunity to us because it can help us to know different information from others so that we can literate individual and to know more us a 21st century generation.

There have some purposes of MIL you can, gained information, you can communicate to your friends or you can interact to other by using technology , you can learned new things and you can discover new words by using it.

Challenges of media is like cyberbullying, digital addiction, pornography, spamming, trolling and many more.
