Digital Divide
I greatly believe that the greatest step we can take must come to our self. We must do our very best to limit ourselves in engaging to much in internet addiction. We must prioritize the different things that we do.
In 21st century being literate to different kinds of technology is very important. To have a fast access in people living near or far from everyone of us is very important in every ones work but we cannot deny the fact that some of us can’t afford or can’t easily use or have access in technology. This is one of the BIG problems we need to combat nowadays, the Digital Divide.
To have a Universal, Government, Non-Government, or community access has a big help in combating this dilemma.
This is some ways to combat Digital Divide:
*We need to have access to the people or the community who is or who have a well-trained staff.
-By this we easily introduce to the people the importance of technology.
*We can build an organization supported by government or Non-government to have way in having teaching programs.
*We can build an organization supported by government or Non-government to have way in having teaching programs.
-By this we can have a seminar that focuses the importance of technology.
*We need to have a universal access and as well as the community access
-As we all know this problem is not just limiting on a certain country but the whole world. By this, we can apply our learning’s in technology. We know that one of the reasons why we engage in technology is to communicate people near or far from us easily. So, in technology we can communicate the whole community as well as the whole world.
Digital/Internet Addiction
We ,the millennial are actively engage in technology specifically in internet. The Internet offers various things that most of us ended up being addicted to it. That’s why most of us faced troubles in how to prevent or combat internet addictions.
I greatly believe that the greatest step we can take must come to our self. We must do our very best to limit ourselves in engaging to much in internet addiction. We must prioritize the different things that we do.
This is my way two ( 2 ) ways in preventing Internet addiction:
*We must limit our time spending in computer.
-Setting our time is very important because in this way we can set limit to ourselves.
*We must not be dependent in internet.
-I mean try to go to library or try to be resourceful sometimes. Example is : What if you do not have internet connection what will you do?
Cyber Bullying
Hurting anybody is a bad thing. As times passed by bullying also updates its version not like before that we felt it in school but today we can feel it online and this called CYBER-BULLYING. Cyber-bullying causes most teenagers in America to suicide .It is not only the victim will know the bad things that the bully do to him/her but also the whole world. By that, the victim will be dipress and ashamed to go out and it might cause him/her to end up his/her life.
If some peoples still bullyings you heres some tip by ConnectSafely (www.Connectsafety.com)
For kids and teens
Know that it’s not your fault. What people call “bullying” is sometimes an argument between two people. But if someone is repeatedly cruel to you, that’s bullying and you mustn’t blame yourself. No one deserves to be treated cruelly.
Don’t respond or retaliate. Sometimes a reaction is exactly what aggressors are looking for because they think it gives them power over you, and you don’t want to empower a bully. As for retaliating, getting back at a bully turns you into one – and can turn one mean act into a chain reaction. If you can, remove yourself from the situation. If you can’t, sometimes humor disarms or distracts a person from bullying.
Save the evidence. The only good news about bullying online or on phones is that it can usually be captured, saved, and shown to someone who can help. You can save that evidence in case things escalate. [Visit ConnectSafely.org/cyberbullying for instructions on how to capture screens on phones and computers.]
Tell the person to stop. This is completely up to you – don’t do it if you don’t feel totally comfortable doing it, because you need to make your position completely clear that you will not stand for this treatment any more. You may need to practice beforehand with someone you trust, like a parent or good friend.
Reach out for help – especially if the behavior’s really getting to you. You deserve backup. See if there’s someone who can listen, help you process what’s going on and work through it – a friend, relative or maybe an adult you trust.
Use available tech tools. Most social media apps and services allow you to block the person. Whether the harassment’s in an app, texting, comments or tagged photos, do yourself a favor and block the person. You can also report the problem to the service. That probably won’t end it, but you don’t need the harassment in your face, and you’ll be less tempted to respond. If you’re getting threats of physical harm, you should call your local police (with a parent or guardian’s help) and consider reporting it to school authorities.
Protect your accounts. Don’t share your passwords with anyone – even your closest friends, who may not be close forever – and password-protect your phone so no one can use it to impersonate you. You’ll find advice at passwords.connectsafely.org.
If someone you know is being bullied, take action. Just standing by can empower an aggressor and does nothing to help. The best thing you can do is try to stop the bullying by taking a stand against it. If you can’t stop it, support the person being bullied. If the person’s a friend, you can listen and see how to help. Consider together whether you should report the bullying. If you’re not already friends, even a kind word can help reduce the pain. At the very least, help by not passing along a mean message and not giving positive attention to the person doing the bullying.
Promoting ethical use of Media and Information
In socializing we need to show our ethical conduct to build a good relationship in the people around us. In work it is the key to build unity with the co-workers. Ethical conduct ensures that your business maintains a reputation for sound professional principles and values that are directly in line with the company mission (Ways to Promote Ethical Conduct ).
This is the same thing in putting ethical conduct in any kind of media and in information. Once you don’t show conducts in your words in might misunderstand by the others ( e. g using CAPITALIZE LETTERS in your status in facebook ).
Think before you click. Think if it has a good benefit to you and to your surrounding.
Challenges and Opportunities of media and information
One of the challenges media specifically social media faced today is how to verify the thing everyones sees in theirs site.Lack of verification is causing a domino effects of problems. It is really hard to verify things such as age. Mostly, teenagers nowadays visit prohibited website that are not appropriate for them to look into. Also privacy, is one of the challenges media faced. Most media specifically social media is not a trusted sites. So, I think we can limit ourselves in postint our private matters in media.
Great opportunities are offered by technology nowadays. It makes our communication easy, our work fast and our job well done.
